You give a grunt through your deer call, and settle down into the foliage around you with your rifle at the ready. Your breathing stills as you see the big buck move into the clearing, its dark eyes looking for a challenger. You wipe the dampness off your hands onto one of your hunting t-shirts, and line up your shot.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why we do what we do. It is considered a sport by many, and murder by many others. It is honored through history, publication, and even on hunting t-shirts. It is what we like to call hunting, and our ability to excel at it is why we are here at the top of the food chain today. It is brainpower against animal ingenuity, and the scales are much more balanced than you would believe.

There is nothing that really compares to the satisfaction I feel when I bring home my own meat. I am not partial to bringing home trophies, but I am very much excited when I'm able to bring home a carcass to share with friends and family. Venison is delicious and I have enough of it to eat on it all year long. When prepared correctly, it can be some of the most delicious and savory meat you can try. I like to prepare mine by smoking the shoulders for some BBQ of a different taste and texture than pork. I may wear an apron when I'm cooking, but I wear my hunting t-shirts underneath. In fact, I'd like to challenge you to finding me not wearing one of my hunting t-shirts. I'm just a little proud of what I do.

Maybe it's an either or situation, or maybe they aren't suitable for any type of processing. Whatever the definitive answer is, it's about time we've got to the bottom of this issue.
